In the final seconds, pure elation erupted for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández forced home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and gifted the stand-in Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old in his dotage.

A Stark Contrast in Experience

On the City bench stood the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with four decades of silverware for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, stood a former coach at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being temporarily promoted from his regular role guiding Chelsea's youth teams.
